The Job

We have multiple Music internship opportunities available. By applying to this posting, you will be considered for all internship opportunities within this area. These internships will be located in the Los Angeles area. The selected interns will be expected to join us in the office on a regular cadence based on the intern managers in office schedule.

The Teams

WB Music Library Intern

We are in charge of updating and maintaining our 100 year old archive of some of the best music ever written for film. Our archive of music contains a rich history of world class music and we assist many departments from legal and marketing to television and consumer products. The music library is an essential department to service the studio’s musical needs, wherever they may be.

The Daily

  • Organizing sheet music
  • Packing sheet music for long term storage
  • Ripping CD’s
  • CD and Document filing
  • Creating lists and checking library inventory
  • Assisting keep the library organized
  • Answering the phone and taking messages
  • Picking up and delivering items (such as hard drives or music) to other areas of the WB lot.

The Essentials

  • Ability to read/write musical notation
  • Experience playing an instrument in an orchestra/ composing music for orchestra
  • Extremely detail oriented
  • Organized
  • Must be actively enrolled in a U.S. accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required)
  • Must be a rising Junior, Senior or Graduate Student (18 years or older)
  • Must be in academic good standing (2.8 or above GPA)
  • Must have the legal right to work in the United States. U.S. International students must hold an F1 Visa to be considered.

Summer 2023 WaterTower Music Intern

WaterTower Music is the in-house record label for Warner Bros. Discovery releasing the soundtracks and scores for a variety of productions including theatrical, television, and streaming. In this position the intern will be assisting the label with a range of projects throughout the entire album release process.

The Daily

  • Assist in metadata upkeep and ingestion in the label’s library system
  • Audit information in the label’s distribution portal
  • Pull and format weekly streaming reports
  • Assist in data collection for Grammy Award Submissions
  • Assist in managing the label’s physical product inventory
  • Create and upload YouTube videos to the label’s channel
  • Write copy for social media posts

The Essentials

  • Be able to multitask- work with multiple team members on separate projects.
  • Have a solid understanding of metadata and its role in the music business
  • Have the ability to work in a hybrid working environment (mix of home and office)
  • Be proficient with Microsoft Excel, Teams, and file sharing platforms (Box, Dropbox, etc).
  • Be able to work with and maintain confidential data and information
  • Have a passion for music and an interest in learning more about the industry

WBTV Music

The music intern will get an overview of how music and television environment works from the creative and business sides and see how the process flows. Intern will assist with various tasks in the creative, clearance, contracting licensing and accounting areas.

The Daily

  • Opportunity to help creative team with digitizing media submissions from major and independent music publishers and record labels to expand digital library.
  • Help organize pitch presentations, and related music database, for network and cable TV, and internet productions.
  • Assist music clearance coordinators in closing out episode packets and entering info in database.
  • Create clearance show/episode files for the upcoming season.
  • Research publisher and recording ownership on songs requested for clearance.
  • Contribute to General creative and clearance organization.
  • Research AFM and AFTRA New Use contracts.
  • Assist in updating AFM and SAG rates into database.
  • Update composer and music supervisor logs.
  • Copy and distribute production schedules, staff and crew lists, scripts and revisions.
  • File and help coordinate the flow if inbound and outbound license agreements from creation through full execution.
  • Provide other duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Knowledge of personal computer/processing system required.
  • Must be currently enrolled as a student (proof of enrollment will be required if selected for an internship)
  • Must be a rising Junior, Senior, or Graduate student (18 years or older)
  • Must have at least a 2.8 GPA
  • Must have the legal right to work in the United States
