Summary of Position Description: This role is required to approach the position with Cru in a manner that seeks, individually and with others, the guidance of the Holy Spirit through prayer. The individual is expected to approach the job in a way that reflects the teachings of the Lord, demonstrating dignity and respect for those with whom the individual works, and an understanding his or her words and deeds are a witness to the faith and mission of this organization.
Working closely with the Video Content Strategy Manager, this position will serve to record and produce/edit FamilyLife Today video content for use on FamilyLife’s multi-channel experiences.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
As an employee with Cru:

For this role: • Capture and produce/edit videos for a variety of delivery platforms (e.g., social media, web, mobile, livestream etc.) • Create long and short-form video content specifically for use on social media sites such as YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, etc. • Review, edit, sharpen and refine multi-guest spoken word recorded interviews as well as interactive, team work cycles. • Track many small details through the complicated production process to ensure that all files are correctly labeled and managed. • Coordinate all phases of content creation, including pre-production, production, and postproduction. • Manage capacity for departmental video priorities and balance those with requests from those outside our dept. • Collaborate with a team of peers and/or dotted-line contributors to accomplish the following: Agreement with and positive affirmation of the theological principles expressed in organizational core documents.
Other Functions (non-essential) • Contribute to other special production efforts on an as-needed basis, including Weekend To Remember, promotional content creation and production, and other video-intensive post production efforts large and small. • Perform related duties or special projects as assigned.

Christian Faith ● Must exhibit a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a willingness and ability to share how this relationship began ● Must sign the Statement of Faith of Cru without reservation ● Must be able to clearly express Biblical principles which are the foundation for the Christian faith ● Must exhibit a history of being connected to a body of believers who encourage his/her spiritual growth ● Must be willing to conduct his/her life in a way that is consistent with Cru’s standards and expectations, understanding that his/her conduct in the workplace and in the community can reflect on the mission of Cru.
Knowledge of: • Scripture and theology within a framework of Christian orthodoxy/orthopraxy and agreement/affirmation of FamilyLife’s doctrinal positions on marriage and family • Routine broadcast and professional video standards and practices • Techniques and best practices for digital non-linear editing on Adobe Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer, or other major video editor software competent • Expertise in the use of video editing skills including but not limited to color correction, animation (motion graphics), and on screen graphic production is a plus. Strong familiarity with the various digital file formats required for delivery and archive of content. • Multi-channel video content creation and delivery; video content marketing strategies • Ministry organization, operation, policies and objectives • Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy with a collaborative spirit • Principles and practices of administration, supervision and training • Budget preparation and control • BrightCove or other Video CMS a plus • Asana work management platform a plus • Demonstration reel that clearly establishes a strong command of the necessary skills
Ability to: • Demonstrate high-level competence in the use of professional audio and video gear (e.g video switchers, cameras, microphones, software plug-ins, digital editing workstations, mixing consoles, loudspeakers, headphones, and so forth) • Demonstrate high detail skills, strong listening, logical, and rhetorical analysis skills • Sustain a focused attention upon complex technical and verbal communication strings for extended periods of time without loss of attention to detail • Be extremely proficient in file management and organizational skills within the computer environment • Demonstrate maturity and discernment in analyzing and managing difficult cultural, theological and social issues. • Develop content aggregation and cataloging systems, • Demonstrate familiarity with video standards for various distribution platforms to ensure a broader reach of our content. • Use Adobe Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer, Apple Final Cut Pro, or other major nonlinear video editing software.
Certifications, Licenses and Registrations • Video-focused specialty school’s certificate in video production/editing
Education Requirements Min/Preferred Education Level Description Preferred 4 Year / Bachelors Degree Film/video production/editing * 3 Years Of Experience • in video production/editing, lighting design, sound recording, and cinematography conventions. • in field/location production as well as live studio production. • A prominent aesthetic component such as music, audio production, voice talent work, creative writing, etc. is a plus.
Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The noise level in the work environment is normally MODERATELY LOUD. Extended periods of dialogue review at 78-83 decibels is typical. The employee is routinely isolated from contact with other staff and individuals for extended periods of time. This position is on site, not remote.

No obvious hearing artifacts such as tinnitus, ringing, hearing instability, or other audio impairments which might impede or skew the individual’s ability to make proper decisions or execute routine functions associated with the work specific to this position.

Eyesight must accommodate long production cycles at a computer workstation without unreasonable difficulty.
