Vocalist and songwriter Beatriz Guzman has been steadily making her mark in Miami’s music scene since 2018. As a versatile musician, she has performed solo and duo, with small groups and big bands, in concert halls, and coffee shops.

Beatriz is a graduate of Florida International University Wertheim School of Music, where she sang in their Downbeat-award winning jazz vocal group for five years. While pursuing her degree, she won the FIU University Graduate School Excellence Award, and was a Gold Coast Jazz Society Scholarship winner. She also holds five Downbeat Music Awards in the vocal jazz and in the blues/pop/rock category. Though the ensemble, she has performed with the Sugar Pops Orchestra, Hallandale Orchestra, Sunrise Pops Big Band, and Live at Lynn American Songbook concert series, among others. As a soloist, Beatriz has performed in major concert series such as SunFest, the Miami Downtown Jazz Festival, the Jazz Education Network conference, SOMI Arts Festival, Coconut Grove Arts Festival, Sofar Sounds Chicago and Fort Lauderdale, WDNA Miami Jazz Radio, and many more.

Currently, she is a faculty member of the Jazz Vocal performance program at Miami Dade College and Florida International University Wertheim School of Music, and is also currently recording and writing with her neo-soul group Burgundee. The group was founded by Beatriz along with other Florida International University alumni.
