FIU Opera Theater: Two Short Operas by Menotti

| $5 – $15FIU Opera Theater presents a double bill by Italian-American composer, Giancarlo Menotti. His first mature work, the one-act opera buffa, “Amelia Goes to the Ball” premiered in 1937 whose success led to a commission by the National Broadcasting Company for Menotti to write an opera made especially for radio entitled, “Old Maid and The Thief.” Come and witness these two masterful one-act operas! Accompanied by the FIU Symphony Orchestra. Sung in English.
