Florida International University Festival of Bands

Event will be held for all interested High School Bands

Saturday, February 14 from 9:30am –3 pm

The festival will be held at Florida International University Wertheim Performing Arts Center. Warm-up space will be available for each band in the Instrumental Hall and the performances/clinics will take place in the WPAC Concert Hall.

WHY:
To provide area bands with the opportunity to perform their contest selections and receive input prior to the district event.
Entry Fees:
NONE
The Pre-Festival is sponsored by FIU Bands to support participation by Miami-Dade County Public Schools high school bands during the 2025–2026 academic year. Please note that transportation will not be provided this year, unlike in previous years.
Details of Festival of Bands:
High School bands will have an on stage time slot of approximately 45 minutes. This time slot will include:
- Set-up/Break down time
- Performance time
- Short comment/clinic time with one judge (as time allows)
There will be three judges who will provide both recorded and written comments.
The adjudication system will resemble the Florida Band Masters Association system.
