A Knight Arts Challenge Winner!

Welcome to the fifth edition of Miami International GuitART Festival (MIGF) at the FIU School of Music which will be held from February 17-23, 2020. The MIGF 2020 will present extraordinary artists in eight concerts, five masterclasses, four lectures, and a round-table composers panel as well as a composition competition. Featured artists will include virtuoso guitarist and composer Benjamin Verdery (U.S.A.), Massimo Delle Cese (Italy), Bekir Kucukay (Turkey), Marco Battaglia (Italy), Arthur Dente (France), Federico Bonacossa (Italy/U.S.A.), Sinan Ersahin (Turkey), Valentine Dente (France), Daniela D’Ingiullo (Italy/U.S.A.), and MIGF Artistic Director and Founder Mesut Özgen (Turkey/U.S.A.).

The annual MIGF Composition Competition has been presided by the extraordinary composer Orlando Jacinto Garcia, who will be joined by two other distinguished judges for evaluating the competition submissions: the award-winning composer Carlos Rafael Rivera (University of Miami) and the Fulbright scholar/composer Jacob Sudol (FIU). The deadline for submissions to the Composition Competition is January 5, 2020. More info and competition guidelines at the MIGF website.

There will also be a composers panel among the festival events with non-guitarist and guitarist composers discussing various issues when writing for guitar.
