Manuel Sanchez-Ruiz is an Architect - Urban Designer with over 35 years of experience in large land-planning of urban scale projects both domestically and internationally. His experience includes the design and planning of large-scale urban development projects, new communities, mixed-use districts, industrial parks, campus plans, waterfronts, and urban regeneration projects particularly in the USA, Latin America, Asia, and Africa. Working in an interdisciplinary collaboration among economics, planning, landscape, architecture, and engineering. Mr. Sanchez has an extensive career in urban design and architecture. From 2010 to 2024, he worked as a Principal with AECOM, a global infrastructure firm known for delivering professional services spanning architecture, engineering, and construction management with offices in 150 countries. He transitioned to AECOM from Sasaki Associates, where he served as a Principal from 1996 to 2010. Prior to this, he was a Principal at Escala International in Monterrey, Mexico, and a Senior Urban Designer for The Central Artery Project in Boston with Wallace, Floyd, Associates, Inc. Additionally, he held the role of Project Manager at Black, Atkinson, Vernooy in Austin, Texas, and was a Principal at Gomez & Sanchez Architects in Bogota, Colombia. As of May 2024, Mr. Sanchez has been running his own consulting firm, MAS Urban Design Consulting, LLC.
