Midori Shim, IIDA, is a registered interior designer in Florida and currently practices at Gresham Smith. She holds a Master of Architecture in Interior Architecture from FIU and views design as a universal language—one that communicates through experience and community. Her professional work spans a wide range of project types, including hospitality, education (K–12 and higher ed), historic preservation, municipal, corporate, commercial, healthcare, and community spaces. Shim is passionate about making design accessible to all and is actively engaged in shaping the profession through leadership and outreach. Her involvement with IIDA’s Design Your World initiative and her service as President of the IIDA South Florida Chapter reflect her dedication to creating impact both within and beyond the design community. She currently teaches courses in Structural Systems.
