About our Speaker

Roberto Rovira, RLA is Principal of Studio Roberto Rovira, Professor, and former Chair of Landscape Architecture + Environmental and Urban Design at Florida International University. As a registered landscape architect with more than 22 years of experience in art, design, and landscape architecture, his professional work spans installations, urban parks, cultural landscapes, and collaborations with architects and artists. His practice and research explore the transformative role of landscape in shaping public imagination, with projects recognized in over 13 national and international competitions and honors that include the Architectural League’s Emerging Voice Award, Fast Company’s World Changing Ideas recognition, AIA Miami’s Landscape Architect of the Year, and national and state ASLA Awards. He is past President of the Landscape Architecture Foundation and has served Miami and South Florida through civic boards and advisory committees. His work has been widely published and exhibited, including by Princeton Architectural Press, Routledge, TEDx, and Landscape Architecture Magazine. Rovira is currently an Entrepreneurial Resident at RA+DI.
