Dominique Denis & Sophie Blachet of Broward Cultural Division visit RA+DI for a studio visit and to discuss Broward County’s Public Art and Design Program

About our Speakers:

Dominique Denis

Dominique Denis is trained as an architect and has over two decades of experience in architecture and public art. She has worked with architecture firms in the New York metropolitan area and South Florida, bringing a multidisciplinary approach to design within the built environment. She is currently a Senior Public Art & Design Project Manager for the Broward County Cultural Division, where she oversees a diverse portfolio of public art projects with construction budgets ranging from $100,000 to $5 million. In 2021, her curatorial work was recognized by The Architect’s Newspaper in its “What to See” feature.

Denis is a resident artist at the Arts Warehouse in Delray Beach, where her work centers on nostalgia, identity, transformation, and belonging, which she explores through exhibitions, artmaking, and design experimentation. She holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the City College of the City University of New York and a Master of Urban and Regional Planning from Florida Atlantic University.

Sophie Blachet

Sophie Blachet is the Project Manager for Public Art & Design at Broward County, where she oversees public art initiatives and curates the Cultural Rendezvous Series. She also directs the County’s Art Purchase Program. Previously, she served as Director of Art Vitam, a Miami gallery active in international art fairs, and developed professional workshops for artists. Blachet was the producer of the five-day Tout-Monde Festival in Miami, a multidisciplinary Caribbean arts festival, in collaboration with the Cultural Services of the French Embassy.

She founded French Arts Associates and George & Georges, supporting arts professionals through strategic programming. A published author and arts writer, she contributes to the renowned magazine Artension and The Art Bridge and has written four books on artist career development. Blachet is a frequent speaker in the United States and France on contemporary art markets and professional growth in the arts.
