Miami

Miami is the most recognized city in South Florida and is part of the 36 cities that constitute the Miami-Dade County. The Miami metropolitan area was home to more than 6 million people, according to the US Census.

In Miami-Dade County, 69 percent of the population is Hispanic, 18% African American, and 13% White non-Hispanic. The dominant language is Spanish.

The county is also home of the most influential Hispanic media in the U.S. Telemundo and Univision have their headquarters here, as well as other influential Hispanic media outlets, including América TV, GenTV, Martí Noticias, El Nuevo Herald, El Diario Las Américas, 14yMedio, Hispano Post, Radio Caracol, Actualidad Radio, among many others. Miami is also the headquarters of the Inter American Press Society, an internationally recognized organization that promotes and protects freedom of press in the Americas.
