Ballet Director Job Duties:

·       Teach ballet technique classes for students ages 10+

·       Oversee/support artistic and pedagogical aspects of the year-round ballet program with co-director

·       Choreograph original works and set pieces for annual showcases

·       Direct and choreograph annual Nutcracker including auditions, casting, costuming, and rehearsals

·       Direct and choreograph annual ballet variations including auditions, casting, costuming, and rehearsals

·       Choreograph ballet for Affect (competition team)

·       Meet with students for auditions

·       Attend bi-monthly meetings with the artistic director and other dance directors

·       Report to the artistic director and personnel/curriculum director

·       Other duties as assigned

Preferred Experience:

  • Loves to work with children ages 7+
  • Professional ballet company experience
  • Choreography experience
  • Large-scale ballet production experience
  • Has taught intermediate and advanced levels in ballet technique, pointe, ballet variations
  • Possesses excellent communication skills
  • Has patience and a friendly, positive attitude
  • Is reliable and trustworthy
  • Able to lead a team and excellent collaborator
  • Shares the philosophy and values of Nolte Academy

 

Hours and Pay:

·       20 + hours of weekly teaching, varies depending on the season

·       Salary commensurate with experience

·       Receives partial credit towards Nolte academy classes for immediate family members

·       Health Insurance and 401K options

·       Job starting fall 2021

·       Relocation financial support possible
