About KGWN: 

Wyoming News Now is the dominant news source for the both the Casper and Cheyenne-Scottsbluff markets. Wyoming News now is made up of two stations, KCWY in Casper, and KGWN in Cheyenne, Wyoming. A community along the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. Cheyenne is home to F.E. Warren Air Force Base, the Capital City and Cheyenne Frontier Days, the world’s largest outdoor rodeo.

Job Summary/Description:

Wyoming News Now is looking for someone experienced in writing, shooting, editing and meteorology to join our team. News directors love to hire well-rounded broadcasters, and this position is tailor-made to provide that experience.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Analyze weather data and prepare detailed forecasts

Prepare graphics to support weather presentation

Conversational On-air presentation

Pitch quality story ideas for day-turn content

Report news stories for our news segments as an MMJ

Fill-in anchor and produce newscasts when needed

Qualifications:

Degree in broadcast journalism or similar

Some anchor experience (college experience accepted)

Ability to shoot and edit video, write scripts, and communicate effectively

Flexibility in scheduling
