Job Description

Marketing Summer Internship

Duration: June 6 – August 19, 2022

Due to the complexity of the COVID-19 pandemic, this internship will likely be entirely remote, depending on PSCU’s onsite business practices by Summer 2022, there is a chance that we may host onsite meetings or events in St. Petersburg, FL

Marketing Internship Directly Impacts

The Marketing organization is passionate about the development and execution of strategies aimed at driving PSCU growth in the credit union industry and enhancing the value of the PSCU brand.  The team includes four key areas, each with a role in supporting the PSCU Marketing objectives:

  • Marketing Strategy – partners with Product and Sales/Account Management teams to develop and implement solution strategic marketing plans, go-to-market plans for new solutions and improvements and demand generation plans and campaign execution; drives sales enablement and marketing operations function; and develops and implements PSCU’s digital marketing strategy, including all websites and toolkits.
  • Insights – drives competitive intelligence efforts to gain insights to support the PSCU Executive team, Revenue development team and Marketing Strategy team in the development of strategies to grow PSCU’s business; manages relationships with consultant and analyst firms; leads development and insights for all performance assessment with credit unions; manages all RFP responses for new and renewal business with credit unions.
  • Communications – leads the development and execution of all corporate communications efforts, including public/media relations, social media, employee communications and communications with credit unions; drives thought leadership strategy to best position PSCU for leadership in the credit union payments space; carries out crisis communications as needed to support business continuity planning efforts. 
  • Events & Brand Experience – leads the planning and execution of all external and internal PSCU events, including the company’s annual Member Forum, regional credit union meetings, trade shows, solution roundtables, and employee events; drives the PSCU brand strategy and design execution through all physical and digital channels.

Goals and Objectives

  • Work in conjunction with Manager, Meetings and Special Events and the Events team to help plan and implement various internal and external-facing meetings, both in-person and/or virtual. Responsibilities include planning and execution of attendee experience, engagement with site management, off-site events, technology and any needed responsibilities as required to deliver on the expectations of the PSCU brand.
  • Support Social Media Specialist with the development and execution of social media campaigns for multiple brands. Duties include drafting and/or scheduling social media posts, drafting social media advertisement copy, monitoring social media inbox activity and gathering/collecting campaign performance.
  • Partner with all facets of the Marketing team – Marketing Strategy, Communications, Creative and Web/Digital – to create an excellent brand experience.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Over the course of this 10-week program, it is PSCU’s goal to provide our interns not only with a real job experience that better prepares future graduates for their chosen profession, but to provide them the knowledge and experience vital to navigate a business environment.

In our program, interns will engage with a group of their peers in acquiring a knowledge foundation in Credit Unions, the financial industry, Six Sigma, preparing for a job search, presentation skills, and more. You will also be given opportunities to network directly with industry leaders at PSCU.

PSCU Intern Program Entry Qualifications

  • Completion of sophomore or junior year in an accredited undergraduate degree program with a 3.0/4.0 GPA at time of application.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to coordinate thoughts, communicate, completely, and concisely.
  • Strong, organizational, and detail skills, with the ability to consistently perform as business requests.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to adjust easily when directions and priorities change on short notice.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite® with a heavy emphasis on Excel.
  • Proficiency in software that applies to your major and function-specific internship.
  • Passion for learning the Credit Union Industry.

Marketing Internship Requirements

  • Familiarity with the following tools and skills are highly desirable: Sprout Social, Microsoft Office Suite, analytics, strategic thinking, organization, attention to detail, content development, design theory, presentation development, collaboration, curiosity, confidentiality, creativity.             
  • General business knowledge, organizational behavior courses, and/or leadership involvement in extracurricular activities
  • Excel and PowerPoint expertise
