HID’s Operations (Warehouse/Shipping) Department: 

The Material Handler will be responsible for day-to-day receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders or managing, organizing, and retrieving stock in the warehouse. Any other procedures deemed necessary to ensure operational KPIs are achieved.

 

As our Material Handler, you’ll support HID’s success by: 

  • Must comply with SOPs and work instructions related to job function.
  • Will be held accountable to performance standards to ensure output positively contributes to area specific KPIs (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost).
  • Participate in the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Works collaboratively with peers and internal customers.
  • Contributes to the culture of continuous improvement by looking for and communicating opportunities to improve performance.
  • Proactively logs and escalates potential issues in order to minimize safety, quality, delivery issues and / or operational inefficiencies.
  • Participate in root cause, corrective / preventive action activities as required.
  • Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock, recording location of inventory.
  • Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
  • Load and unload delivery trucks and make sure that each incoming delivery matches the company purchase order.
  • Assist in reviewing pick sheets based on customer orders and then pulling the right products for each order.
  • Move freight and stock to and from loading docks, delivery vehicles, storage areas, and production areas either manually or using equipment such as forklifts.

  • Must possess the ability to work at a fast pace with very high attention to detail.
  • Must have flexibility to work overtime as required (including weekends) and periodically work a different shift. 
  • Requires the ability to learn, use and maintain specialized equipment.
  • Accepts and embraces constant change as a necessary factor to success.
  • Familiarity within MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel is preferred.
  • Familiar with operating systems, such as Windows, etc.

 

Your Experience and Education include:             

  • Must have a minimum of one year manufacturing experience.
  • Must have a high school diploma, or equivalent.

 

Work Environment & Requirements:

  • Employee works primarily in a manufacturing / warehouse environment, within a well-ventilated area, and is exposed to moderate noise levels.
  • Must be able to work sitting down and/or standing up for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to bend, scoop, and reach to perform above duties.
  • Must be able to lift items weighing up to 35 lbs.
  • Must be able to distinguish colors.
