JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Tutor/Academic Support Coach, reporting to the Program Director, is a key player in support the success of students. The Tutor/Academic Support Coach is there to assist/guide/teach students different module courses/credit recovery course under the ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act). The Tutor/Academic Support Coach will develop material and lesson plans, conduct classroom instruction, and evaluates and assesses student performance. The Tutor/Academic Support Coach will meet with parents, interpret student progress, and inform parents/guardians about student strengths, weaknesses and progress.
In addition, the Tutor/Academic Support Coach provides support to students which will benefit from earning high school credits towards traditional high school graduation. The goal of this program is to assist students to complete courses and obtain credit needed for graduation.
We are currently hiring a Tutor/Academic Support Coach for the following subjects: (Middle and High School Study Skills 1, 2, 3 & 4, Biology, Algebra I, Social Emotional Learning, American Govt)
TRAINING:
You will complete an extensive training program. We will guide you step by step to ensure not only you are successful, but your students are as well.
HOURS & AVAILABILITY:
Open availability is a required. There will be required meetings during the afternoon/early evening hours, Monday – Friday, some Saturdays & Sundays.
EDUCATION LEVEL REQUIREMENT:
1. High School Diploma/GED required, Associates Degree Preferred.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. At least two years’ experience with teaching, mentoring, advising, career counseling and/or providing student services in a higher education setting.
2. Written and oral communication; motivated, well-organized, student management
SALARY:
$20.00/hr to $23.00/hr
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:
1. Provide proactive outreach and academic coaching for students to help them address their individual learning needs in order to increase achievement and persistence.
2. Motivate students daily in appropriate academic settings.
3. Establish and maintain a positive rapport with all students.
4. Make sure that all records are up to date in the Student Information System (SIS)
5. Develop and maintain logs of student progress.
6. Monitor Student Behavior.
7. Complete required certifications/trainings.
8. Attend all scheduled meetings.
9. Ensure all lesson plans are complete in a timely manner and posted for students.
10. Grade and input grades for assignments in a timely manner.
11. Develop and post instruction in Google Classroom.
12. Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator.
