Spring Meadow Nursery Inc. is looking for a talented graphic designer to help us create content that spreads the love of plants and gardening. This includes assisting with catalogs, booklets, posters, flyers, point-of-purchase materials, photo editing, and the development of creative photography and more – we can’t list it all, because there’s really something new to do every day. Our ideal candidate brings a definitive point of view in their work, understands the importance of branding, enjoys being part of a team, and believes that great design can shape culture.

In this position, the ideal candidate will create, design, and develop marketing materials to support the Spring Meadow and Proven Winners ColorChoice Shrubs brands, including but not limited to print and digital ads, sales support materials, POP, plant tags, and promotional items. Assists in the development and editing of product and creative photography. Works within design and brand standards set by Creative Marketing Specialist to create a cohesive representation in all content and materials.

Due to the collaborative nature of this position, remote work is not possible. Candidates should include a link to their portfolio when submitting their resumes.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Marketing Manager and Creative Marketing Specialist in day-to-day activities, with emphasis on marketing
  • Assist in development of overall brand marketing strategies.
  • Support the Proven Winners ColorChoice brand in the design and creation of marketing pieces.
  • Assist in website maintenance, especially as it pertains to photography and graphic elements.
  • Assist with the design of sales and marketing graphic design.
  • Create high quality print and digital marketing pieces for advertising, marketing, and sales support.
  • Design presentations, booklets, meeting and tradeshow materials for the sales team.
  • Design POP materials for wholesale growers and garden centers, including but not limited to benchcards, banners, and signage.
  • Assist with yearly tag design, revisions, and proofs.
  • Coordinate production and distribution of printed materials when necessary
  • Serve as main point of contact for company business cards.
  • Design promotional items and gifts.
  • Maintain master PowerPoint of all plant varieties.
  • Assist in photography and image editing
  • Includes product photography and creative photography
  • Remove plant stakes, adjust color, resize images as needed.
  • Assist in administering company digital asset manager software
  • Support internal and external users.
  • Add and properly tagging new items.
  • Create and optimize design templates for external users.
  • Fulfill external image requests using the DAM.

 

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Performs other related duties as required.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • Education – 2 yr. or 4 yr. graphic design, marketing, art or similar degree. Skill and qualifications: creativity, organizational and interpersonal skills, graphic design, layout, creative services, flexibility, attention to detail, deadline-oriented. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and Adobe Creative Suite (especially InDesign and Photoshop).

 

Performance Requirements:

  • Must maintain a level of performance equivalent to company standards, that being a “Meets Expectations” in all areas of your performance evaluations (Self and Management reviews).

Job Type: Full time salary.

Pay: starting at $45,000 per year, dependent upon experience. Amount is not inclusive of total compensation package.
