Buck’s Rock Camp, a 501(c)(3) public charity, is hiring a wide variety of Camp Counselors for its upcoming season in 2022. Camp Counselors arrive in late June and reside on-site for two months through August while working with kids and teens ages 10-17. Exact job responsibilities depend on specific placements but are limited within a range to accommodate precise roles. Camp Counselors work in a thriving community of nearly 500 adult and young artists.
We are looking for an experienced Performing Arts Program Coordinator. This position is responsible for encouraging and supporting shop areas working in disciplines related to Performing Arts at Buck’s Rock in the summer. Functionally similar to a resource coordinator, Program Coordinators serve as a general auxiliary to shop heads to help manage schedules, energy, organization, people, and the means of supply and planning that fuel the many performances, trips, and productions taking place in a season. Program Coordinators help bridge conversations between working staff and camp leadership by facilitating weekly meetings and routinely visiting shop areas.
Responsibilities/Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years experience in program management, arts administration, and/or project management role required.
- Determining early with shop areas the level to which help and attention from Program Coordinators is necessary throughout the summer.
- Working with shop staff to develop best practices for ordering, tracking, and distributing shop inventories, including equipment rental and specialty items.
- Maintaining a general schedule of relevant field trips away from camp and helping manage the particular needs and itineraries of each.
- Connecting shop areas that seek to collaborate on larger projects or productions, and helping to maintain energy levels and communication after the point of interfacing.
- Attend regular communication and routine meetings with camp leadership to keep them apprised of current events around camp.
- Working with community staff (Evening Activities) to plan and organize shop-related evening events, including shows and exhibitions.
