This is a regular full-time position (8 hours/day, Monday – Friday) with the responsibility of manual/mechanical assembly, testing, and debugging of complex vacuum components. Skill in detailed assembly of mechanical parts and prior assembly experience is preferred. Safe work habits, attention to detail, accuracy, good attendance, and excellent organizational skills, the ability to work and think independently, along with the ability to work cooperatively with others in a positive and professional manner are expected. Must be able to pass a drug screening and background check will be performed. Job Title: Components Assembler
Job Level: Operative (6:00AM – 2:30PM or 7:00AM – 3:30PM, Components Department)
Essential Duties:
1. Custom assembly of vacuum beam line components, including some electrical wiring, soldering and/or heat bonding
2. Testing and debugging of component assemblies
3. Set up and operation of commercial vacuum leak detecting machine
4. Cleaning and surface finishing of parts
5. On occasion, manufacturing processes, such as, spot-welding of small parts
6. Some repetitive subassembly and small assembly work
7. Miscellaneous other duties, as assigned
Qualifications:
1. Experience using manual and power hand tools and common measuring tools
2. Average or better ability to work from oral and written instructions
3. Detailed and precise assembly experience based on assembly drawings and parts lists
4. Fluency in reading/writing in English language
5. High school diploma or equivalent
