Additional Information: The City of Leawood offers career development opportunities in which the employee could increase their experience, training, and pay. The position is eligible to receive merit based pay increases every year (merit increase up to 3.9% increase) and opportunities to continue to grow in the Human Resources field. Employees also receive a Time In Service Bonus every three years of employment on their anniversary date equal to 5% of their annual salary.
Summary of the Position: The Human Resource Data Analyst will collect, compile, and analyze HR data, metrics, and statistics via multiple systems and data sets, and apply this information to aid in recommendations as it relates to recruitment, retention, performance, demographic, and legal compliance. In addition, this position is responsible for the records management of all Human Resources documentation both in paper and electronic format in various systems.
General Overview of Responsibilities:
- Supports other Human Resources staff in the development, collection and analysis of Human Resources related data from a variety of sources.
- Enters, updates and maintains employee information in the Human Resources Information System.
- Assists the Human Resources department in designing and developing queries in the City’s HRIS systems for reporting and special projects.
- Oversees records management of employee and department files, updating and maintaining information in appropriate electronic and paper filing systems.
- Responsible for reporting workplace accidents, injuries and incidents to the City’s workers compensation agency.
- Responsible for data integrity and researching and resolving human resources data discrepancies between HRIS system and other City systems.
- Serves as the administrative support for seasonal hiring.
- Codes and prepares departmental invoices for approval signatures. Monitors and reports departmental expenses as requested. Assists in the monitoring of annual budgeted funds.
- Reviews and submits tuition reimbursement requests, ensures adequate documentation is submitted; maintains related logs and records.
- Provides administrative support, information, and direction to employees, job applicants and the public regarding employment opportunities.
- Assists the Human Resources department in reviewing and analyzing internal measurements, metrics, trends and patterns to monitor Human Resources programs including employee demographics, turnover trends, internal and external benchmarks.
- Assists the Human Resources department in needs analysis, product evaluation, selection, customization, testing, implementation and support of all Human Resources related systems.
- Coordinates employee motor vehicle records review per City policy.
- Assists in the coordination of pre-employment testing protocols.
- Responsible for the preparation of new employee packets for orientation and associated tasks.
- Provides administrative support for training and education opportunities throughout the City.
- May assist department in updating and reporting DOT drug and alcohol testing and information with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
- May assist with the COBRA/Retiree benefit program. Responsibilities may include tracking separated employee elections, open enrollment changes and reconciling premium payments.
Minimum Requirements: Must have a minimum of three (3) years as a Human Resources Assistant, or similar position; six (6) years of related experience preferred. Must have an Associate’s Degree in Human Resources or related field. Experience in related areas such as records management, recruitment, selection, employee benefits, and/or equal opportunity compliance preferred. Must possess a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record per the City’s drivers Use of Vehicles for City Business policy throughout employment with the City.
