Business Unit/Role Specific Info
The Summer Internship Program (SIP) sits under Global Servicing & Customer Engagement (GSCE) – the heart of American Express’s global operations and part of our largest division, the Global Servicing Group (GSG). Employing 36,000 colleagues in 25 countries, no two projects or teams are the same. We deliver extraordinary customer care to card members, merchants, and commercial clients around the world, while providing world-class credit, collections, and fraud services.
The SIP will offer you hands on experience with end-to-end project management. As an intern, you will lead a meaningful project over the course of 10 weeks. Collaborating with leaders to solve some of our most stimulating business challenges, your contributions will have a direct and measurable impact on our business strategies.
This is an opportunity for the eager and open-minded. We’re looking for multiskilled teammates who enjoy fast-paced work across a variety of operational functions. Project assignments are diverse and can include project management, data analysis, credit & collections analytics, card member acquisition, and fraud detection.
The SIP is not just an internship, but a pipeline into a career at AmEx. At the end of the 10-week experience, strong performing interns will receive a return offer to join our team as full-time colleagues in the Talent Rotation Program beginning August 2024. In the Talent Rotation Program, you will have three eight-month assignments over the course of two years. This program allows you to experience multiple teams and functions of the business, setting you up to for a successful career at AmEx.

We will give you ownership of your project, and support you as you participate in the following program of events:
- Welcome to American Express through an induction day and training sessions throughout your internship

- Regular Speaker Series with senior leaders across different business areas
- Take part in social activities, networking events and projects with other Interns and Graduates
- Structured performance management process, personal and professional development support, and ongoing feedback
Skills/Experience
- Strong social skills with the ability to work independently and in teams
- An ability to communicate and collaborate well with people at all levels
- Analytical, with an interest in both quantitative and qualitative analysis
- An interest in process improvement and different ways of solving problems
- Highly ambitious and results driven with the capacity to manage several initiatives at once and get results
- The ability to lead and bring others with you

Requirements/Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in any full-time undergraduate degree program with a desired GPA 3.2 or higher
- Students must have a graduation date between December 2023 and June 2024
