Overview
As an Accounting Intern, you will work with the Accounting Team to gain an understanding of various processes, accounts, reconciliations, etc. You will perform monthly journal entries, prepare monthly cash flows, and assist with other various projects. You will also have the opportunity to develop and maintain productive team-oriented relationships through individual contact and group meetings.

Responsibilities
Please note that the duties below can vary based on the workflow of your local office.
- Prepare platform monthly journal entry uploads for consolidation, reconcile the platform trial balances and intercompany accounts.
- Record monthly journal entries using supporting documentation.
- Assist senior accountants in the setup and preparation of monthly platform financial analytics.
- Prepare the monthly cash flow for platforms and prepares platform excess cash tie-out.
- Assist with the corporate accounts payable process.
- Attend and assist with monthly CFO conference calls.
- Assist with gathering and providing audit requests.
- Assist seniors with the setup of new acquisition earn-out calculations.
- Prepare monthly reconciliations which include but are not limited to equity and deposits.
- Assist with projects outside of month end close. These may include but are not limited to clean-up of the acquisitions and EO folders, assist with process documentation, add new/missing accounts to month end files as applicable, update the PwC Cash file with new bank accounts at the time of acquisition and complete the required AssuredPartners internship program project. Develop and maintain productive team-oriented relationships through individual contact and group meetings.
- Travel is expected to be negligible in this role.
Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in post-secondary education, ideally in a degree program concentrating in Accounting or Finance.
- Ability to handle multiple, concurrent assignments.
- Effectively utilize available and relevant technical tools and resources (e.g. Microsoft Office and Excel).
- Asks detailed questions to help gain an understanding of assignments and the business.
- Executes Projects: Assists with projects and communicates to supervisor on status. Reaches out for help when needed.
