The Allapattah Collaborative CDC is looking for a full-time Youth Programs Coordinator to implement various outreach programs in the Allapattah neighborhood and coordinate the Allapattah Community Fellows.
The Coordinator will help plan and execute outreach projects throughout Allapattah, including but not limited to quarterly neighborhood meetings, training seminars, marketing stations at larger events, neighborhood canvassing/surveying, and more. This person will lead intergenerational “Tertulias” at the Storytelling Garden, and co-lead the Allapattah Community Fellows and the Overtown Community Fellows. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with youth and social media, and will have a passion for community organizing.
The Community Fellows Program is a 12-week group project for youth who are driven with a vested interest in Allapattah. They receive training on community engagement through weekly sessions and outreach. As part of the program, they design and implement a community service project to benefit the neighborhood.
Specifically, you will,
- Dedicate 40 hours per week
- Use Google Drive/ Workspace suite
- Help manage the Allapattah Community Fellows Program, including securing guest speakers, attending Fellows sessions, and overseeing the individual cohort’s Community Activation Project.
- Help manage the Overtown Community Fellows Program, including securing guest speakers, attending Fellows sessions, and overseeing the individual cohort’s Community Activation Project.
- Design and implement the “Tertulias” at the Storytelling Garden
- Performs administrative and office support activities in the office and remotely
- Communicate verbally and written with constituents
- Assist in drafting documents, data entry, spreadsheets, and presentations
- Access TAC’s service providers and partners for special requests as needed
- Maintain accurate client records through data entry and work with the team to track progress on goals
- Keep proper communication with teammates via video conference, phone, and shared documents
- Report to directly to the Director of Community Engagement
YOUR KEYS TO SUCCESS:
To perform successfully in this role, you will need to leverage these key qualifications:
- A candidate will need excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to relate and communicate with people from various socio-economic backgrounds, formal education levels, cultures, etc.
- Proficiency in internet navigation, Microsoft Office, and Google Drive/Workspace required
- Ability to work/ learn various platforms such as Canva, Zoom, and Eventbrite, among others
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks
- Strong communication skills. Preferred Bilingual with excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills in English/Spanish
- Commitment to the organization’s mission and approach to economic and social justice
- Self-motivated and Self-starter team player able to work with limited supervision
Salary/ benefits:
- $41,600 annually
- Monthly $250 healthcare stipend
- 2-weeks vacation
- Flexible work-from-home schedule
