The Greenhouse
CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
Deadline: March 15, 2021
THE GREENHOUSE is a play development program at FIU Theatre supporting Florida playwrights. Three playwrights will be selected for one-week intensive residencies in June and July to workshop/revise a draft of a full-length play. A director, a dramaturg, and age-appropriate actors will work with the playwright over Zoom. The week will culminate in a streamed public reading of the revised work.
Three scripts will be selected and each playwright will receive a $400 stipend. The author will be able to meet with the director, dramaturg, and actors for three Zoom sessions over the course of the week before the final reading.
Submission
Playwrights are invited to submit the following:
- one full-length script to be considered for the residency.
- a statement outlining what the playwright would like to accomplish in the residency (150 words or less)
- CV/resume
March 15, 2021 is the deadline for playwright submissions. Submissions can be sent to the Greenhouse Managing Director, Michael Yawney at myawney@fiu.edu.
