Holiday by Michael Yawney

based on the classic comedy by Philip Barry

What is the point of being rich if money cannot buy you a perfect husband?

Julia meets Johnny on vacation and decides he is the one. He feels the same. But when they get back home, real life gets in the way. Maybe money cannot buy you happiness…but why not give it a shot?

Holiday will be developed over a week-long process which concludes with a developmental reading on Zoom on June 12th, the final day of the residency.

The reading can be watched live on Friday, June 12th at 8:00pm on Zoom. https://go.fiu.edu/81512079039

The reading will then be available to stream on our YouTube page through the summer. https://www.youtube.com/fiutheatre

About The Greenhouse

The Greenhouse is a play-development program at FIU Theatre supporting Florida playwrights. Playwrights are given a one-week intensive residency to workshop/revise their draft. A director, a dramaturg, and actors work with the playwright over Zoom. The week culminates in a streamed public reading of the revised work.

Plays developed at The Greenhouse have moved on to full productions at Geffen Playhouse, Classical Theater of Harlem, Yale School of Drama, and Theatre Lab.
