CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
Deadline: January 31, 2020
THE GREENHOUSE is a play development program at FIU Theatre supporting South Florida playwrights. Three playwrights will be selected for one-week intensive residencies in June and July to workshop/revise a draft of a full-length play. A director, a dramaturg, and age-appropriate actors will work with the playwright. The week will culminate in a public reading of the revised work.
Three scripts will be selected and each playwright will receive a $500 stipend. The author will be able to meet with the director, dramaturg, and actors for three sessions on the FIU campus over the course of the week before the final reading.
Playwrights are invited to submit the following:
- one full length script to be considered for the residency.
- a statement outlining what the playwright would like to accomplish in the residency (150 words or less)
January 31, 2020 is the deadline for playwright submissions. Submissions can be sent to the Greenhouse Managing Director, Michael Yawney at firstname.lastname@example.org.
