A new tradition begins at FIU Theatre!

FIU Theatre Holiday Ornament - a panther with a red nose and horns framed by theatre curtains

Bring home a piece of FIU Theatre this holiday season with our first ever Holiday Ornament. For $25, you can add our home-made, limited edition ornament to your tree and help provide theatre students with scholarships for years to come.

The 2022 FIU Theatre Holiday Ornament is the first of what will be a yearly tradition. It was designed and built by our students utilizing the state-of-the-art laser cutting technology in our Scene Shop.

Proceeds go to student scholarships!

Net proceeds go towards the FIU Theatre Alumni Scholarship Fund which was created by our alumni as a legacy to support the future generations of FIU Theatre artists. The fund will award scholarships to talented students as they discover their artistic voice and become the dynamic theatre professionals of tomorrow.

When we raise $25,000 by 2024, the Fund will become endowed, which means the principal in the account is never touched and scholarships are granted each year from the interest generated by the account. In other words, the money you donate today will be supporting theatre students for many many years to come. To date we have raised about $13,000.

Order Yours Today!

We will make a limited run of 200 ornaments this year, so reserve yours today before they’re gone! Ornaments will begin shipping around Thanksgiving.

If you would like to make an additional contribution to the FIU Theatre Alumni Scholarship Fund to help us reach our goal more quickly, you may do so here.

If you have questions, please contact Ivan R. Lopez at irelopez@fiu.edu or 305-348-3365.
