We are pleased that we received over one hundred submissions as part of the 2014 World Music Days – Miami ISCM Section call for works. As part of this, the selection committee is delighted to announce that six pieces were selected to represent the Miami ISCM Chapter for the next round of adjudication by the local selection committee for the World Music Days in Wrocław, Poland. The six pieces selected are:
Skeumorphic Tendencies by Ryan Carter
Le Cabinet des Signes by Aaron Einbond
métal re-sculpté by Heather Frasch
Hotbird by Mike Frengel
Wschodni Wiatr by James Ogburn
Reach by Nicholas Omiccioli
We congratulate the six composers for their works and for being selected.
On another congratulatory note, we are delighted that Per Bloland‘s work for flute and electronics …walk now and then into the breath that blows coldly past… was selected for performance at the 2013 ISCM World New Music Days, which will take place in Slovakia and Austria. This was one of 6 works submitted by our chapter to the WMD.
Many thanks again to everyone who submitted their works, we received many excellent scores – and again congratulations to our finalists!
