RA+DI Fellow Toshiro Kurimoto @toshirokurimoto screens his directorial debut, The Best Pizza in the World, the story of a single mother and a cooking show hosted by La Nonna. Through parallel stories that overlap, the movie explores the importance of family, food, and the joy of cooking. Set in Venezuela during the 2014 economic crisis, the movie portrays the struggles of people during difficult times. Kurimoto will discuss the film, his architecture, and film studies and how both were influenced by his Venezuelan upbringing in “El Sistema,” where he learned to play the piano.
