Natalya Kochak was born in New York and has since spent time in many different places, from Alabama to Chicago, Berlin to Beijing. She graduated with her BFA and MFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. In 2010 she started a Decorative Painting company with a partner in Austin, Texas. In 2014, she moved that company to Miami and created Natalya Kochak Design Studio. She has help create the ambiance with her paint design in residential and commercial restaurants and clubs such as Los Altos, Ariete, and Eva. Currently, she is working on her next business, Paper Joy, a wallpaper and fabric design company.

As a Contemporary artist and educator, her resume includes, an artist-in-residence in 2018-2019 with ProjectArt. In 2018, she completed a residency and served as a visiting professor at the Lido Art Center in Guangzhou, China. She also completed a residency at the Hambidge Center in Rabun Gap, Georgia. In 2021 Natalya attended Jentel Artist Residency in Wyoming, and in 2022 she was a resident for Oolite Art Centers Home and Away program at The Atlantic Center for the Arts in Florida. She also participated in a group show at The Frank Contemporary in Miami. In 2023, she had her first solo show at the Sidney & Berne Art Center in Ft Meyers, FL. Upcoming, she has a solo in Sheridan, Wyoming, and a residency at Wildacres Retreat.
