Edward Gilhuly has thirty years of experience managing communications and public affairs for a wide range of corporate, governmental, academic and non-profit organizations.

He has been a close family member of the FIU community for decades and is proud to serve as an adjunct instructor in CARTA since 2020.

He is active on the board of directors for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Miami; volunteers as a mentor and advisory committee member of Nyah Project; and supports numerous other civic, social justice and environmental conservation initiatives in South Florida.

He began his career as a correspondent for daily newspapers in Connecticut and Florida, and holds a master’s degree in journalism and a bachelor’s degree in speech communication from Louisiana State University.
