How do you empower others to think creatively? Is there a procedural approach to creativity? Here are some tips to effectively solve problems by the application of creative thinking.

  1. Explain the problem at hand. Creativity is problem solving, everyone solves problems daily. Therefore we are all forced to think creatively when faced with problems.
  2. Ask the right questions! You can’t solve problems if there are too many possible solutions and if you mistakenly identified the core issue(s). Kind of like when you search on WebMD and the questions are too general, rather than going to the doctor where he usually asks all the right questions!
  3. Analyze your limitations. There are limits that prevent us from solving issues. By understanding those issues, we can locate the limitations we have trouble working beyond.
  4. Spark creativity by experiencing new things and giving your brain fresh air. Give it new things to think about and change your perspective. Make new associations and allows you to find brand new connections and applications.
  5. Create! There is always a solution. It is a necessary thought that eliminates an abstract, mental limitation. Seeing everything is a resource for solving your problems like, the people you see, the things we touch, and the concepts we talk about all spark creativity.

So the next time you need a little motivation, remember: You Are a Creative Thinker! All you have to do is ask the right questions, experience new things, use your resources, and push through your limitations.
