Tina Roth Eisenberg: 5 Rules for Making an Impact

Tina Roth Eisenberg: 5 Rules for Making an Impact

This 99u talk (which is similar to a TED talk but with a larger focus on productivity, organization, and leadership) was given by Tina Roth Eisenberg, aka SwissMiss. She is a Swiss born, raised, and trained graphic designer that has turned 5 of her side projects into successful businesses. She is a married mother of two that has admirable values, work ethic, and is an incredibly inspirational powerhouse of a woman. Her business are awesome, especially her lecture series Creative Mornings. I have had the pleasure of attending on various occasions and cities and they all have inspired me to be a better creative.

In this talk, Tina shares her 5 personal values and rules that help make an impact as well as the values that push her forward. You can tell she is a genuinely kind person by the way that she speaks and the topics that she wishes to highlight and share.

Here are Tina’s 5 Rules for Making and Impact

  1. Embrace your superpower
  2. Don’t complain, make things better
  3. Choose wisely who you hang out with
  4. Don’t forget to play
  5. Push to be better

At the end of her talk she shares more of her motherly and professional wisdom. She says,

“In having these roles (mother and boss), you need to learn how to clearly articulate what you stand for, what you believe in, and what your values are.”

Tina’s Top Values (that I also value)

  1. An environment of kindness, respect and trust
  2. An environment where you can be vulnerable and make mistakes in
  3. An environment where you can push each other to be better and shine the light on others
  4. Believes in a new measure of success that goes beyond money and power
  5. Success is the happiness in the people & personal growth of the people around you

“We can all make a difference, whether we lead a team of 2 or a company of 500. If our team members go home feeling fulfilled, happy and appreciated, they are also going to be better members of society.”

Everything she said resonated with me, as I believe, very similarly to her, that happiness is the ultimate form of success.
