Elena Key

Elena Key is a senior at Florida International University pursuing a degree in Mass Communications in the Digital Broadcasting track and seeking a minor in Criminal Justice. She was born and raised in South Florida and is a first-generation student with a Venezuelan heritage.

Throughout her time at FIU, Elena Key has worked with the student-run news publication PantherNOW and South Florida Media Network and completed the STEP internship at Univision. During her career, Elena has had the opportunity to create multimedia content for various publications. Some highlights include interviewing Hollywood stars Mark Wahlberg, Zachery Levi, and Alana Haim. She is also proactive in covering topics important to the South Florida community, such as coverage on breast cancer awareness, local animal adoption centers, and aid for persons with disabilities.

Elena Key found her passion for broadcasting at a young age and, after graduation, aims to work in entertainment journalism. Elena hopes to continue giving a voice to the community of South Florida with her profiles and media coverage.
