Britney Alvarez

Britney Alvarez is a designer who believes in enhancing the human experience through emotionally enriching and beautiful spaces. At the age of 12, Alvarez taught herself how to hand draw which sparked her passion for creativity. She enrolled in the Masters of Interior Architecture program at Florida International University (FIU) and has earned a certificate in Cruise ship and Super Yacht Design.

Throughout her academic journey, Alvarez became actively involved in the design community. She became a student member of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) in 2020 and also joined the Network of Women in Hospitality (NEWH) in 2022. Within the IIDA FIU Chapter, she assumed leadership positions starting as the Social Media Coordinator in 2022 and advancing to the position of Co-President in 2023. Recently, she participated as a panelist for the IIDA South Florida Chapter’s 2024 “New Year, New You” event on Human Excellence in a Digital Age, speaking on the trajectory of human skills amid technological advancements.

Following her semester abroad last year, she was recognized by NEWH as the 2023 Cruise Ship Interiors Scholarship Recipient. That summer, she delivered a speech at the Cruise Ship Interiors Expo held at the Miami Beach Convention Center, outlining her aspirations and future contributions to the Cruise Ship Interior Design industry. Her interest in nautical design grew and would inspire her future career in the Cruise Ship Industry.

In January 2024, she began her internship at Windstar Cruises as an Interior Design Intern, where she continues to learn and explore innovative ways to contribute to the guest and staff experience.
