Angelica Gallon joined Univision News in February 2016. She is the fashion and trending editor at Univision Digital News and she is working with the Audience Engagement team. Angelica moved to Miami, Florida from Bogota, Colombia where she worked as a journalist for over 10 years. In Colombia, Angelica was the Editor in Chief of Fucsia Magazine, the country’s most relevant women´s magazine. During her tenure, she developed new editorial policies that expanded the general concept of what fashion is and how it impacts life and culture. She previously worked as a culture and fashion reporter at El Espectador, one of Colombia’s largest national newspapers, where she wrote about fashion, trends, arts and literature. On a parallel track, Angelica also worked as a professor at Pontificia Javeriana University’s School of Communication where she created a course titled ‘Undress the dresses: politics behind fashion.’ The course looked at how fashion can create a dialogue with multiple disciplines like economy, politics and gender. She also taught history of fashion and journalism for over six years. Angelica won the scholarship ‘Programa Balboa para Periodistas Iberoamericanos’ in 2008, a program that enabled her to work at El Mundo, one of Spain’s largest and most influential newspapers.
