Giovanna D. Maselli

Associate Producer | CBS4 News

Giovanna Maselli joined the CBS4 News team in March 2013 as an associate producer. There she learned the ins and outs of television news. She wrote day after day covering stories from breaking news to fun features.  In the end, she decided the web was for her and she joined the CBSMiami web team in October 2013.  Now, she writes informative and entertaining stories to keep the community up to date on everything from local news, health, sports, entertainment and just about everything in between. Giovanna was an intern with CBS4 from August 2011 to March 2012. As an intern, she worked with the web department, assignment desk and special projects desk. Each department showed her the full scope of work it takes to bring compelling and informative news to the community.

After her internship, and before being hired full-time, Giovanna decided she wanted to expose herself to a different environment and moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina. There she worked at a Spanish television station. She dabbled around a bit in front of the camera but realized her love was behind the camera; writing, interviewing and producing. She ended up producing two specials which aired throughout Argentina on CMTV.  Before work came school! Giovanna attended Florida International University where she graduated with a major in Journalism and also studied International Relations.  Before that, she attended Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart which helped cultivate her love of writing and her curiosity for everything. In high school, she joined the school newspaper and wrote about school events and student issues. Her love of writing and news started before high school.  It goes as far back as intermediate school when she used to watch the nightly news in Spanish with her father.  At a young age, Giovanna loved news and knew she wanted to keep other people informed and entertained. She had an infinite curiosity as a child which helped propel her to be the successful web journalist she is today.
