Carla Zensen is currently the Program Coordinator at the Lillian Lodge Kopenhaver Center for the Advancement in Women in Communication. Zensen holds a Master of Science in Marketing from Southern New Hampshire University, with a special track in social media, and a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, with a business administration track.

Zensen has an extensive 18-year background in the field of education and has experience in both international and domestic schools. Zensen started her career at Miami Dade College as the Program Manager Assistant for the GED/VESOL Program, where she assisted with budgets, student guidance, training seminars, and program presentations.

In 2005, Zensen served as the program assistant for the FIU MBA program, and in 2019, she returned to the FIU family, where she assists the Kopenhaver Center as program coordinator and supports the center in all programming and marketing functions.

Her dedication lies in keeping up with technology, marketing, and empowering women. She proudly identifies as a Latina. Her upbringing in Ecuador has deeply influenced her perspective on cultural diversity and inclusivity. Zensen’s mission is to advance these principles through innovative technology and inclusive practices, ensuring that Hispanic women are empowered and represented in the field of communication and beyond.

Carla enjoys spending time with her family and fur babies, Maple and Cannoli.
