Cathy Belony 

Cathy Belony received an associate degree from Broward College in Mass Communication. Belony is currently a senior at Florida International University (FIU); where she will be graduating this spring semester with her Bachelor of Science in Organizational Communication with the title of Magna Cum Laude Honors.

Belony is also a part of the four-plus one program at FIU. The four plus one program allows Belony to take classes towards her master’s degree at FIU. Once Belony receives her bachelor’s degree she will go on to become a master’s candidate where she will graduate in December 2022 with her Master of Science in Mass Communication/Global Strategic Communications.

During her time at FIU Belony was active in several organizations. She was the president of Lambda Pi Eta Communications Honor Society, the co-president of the Haitian Student Union and a member of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity International, Empowering Women in Law, The Black Student Union, and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.

After Belony graduates from FIU, she plans to attend law school and specialize in intellectual property, and contracts. Once she completes all her schooling, she wants to focus on practicing law in Florida with a focus on intellectual property, contracts, marketing, communications, and advertising for small businesses.

Currently, Belony is interning as a digital marketing specialist for a nonprofit organization and works as a communication specialist for a bridal designer where she continues to develop her skills within marketing and communication roles.

Belony enjoys volunteering her time in assisting attorneys with additional office help and volunteers at different conferences where she can assist within the marketing or communication departments.
