Amaia Morejon 1

Amalia Morejon was born and raised in Havana, Cuba. Arriving in the United States with her family at the young age of eleven, she was amazed by the world of possibilities and had high hopes for the future.

While attending high school, Morejon discovered a passion for Interior design. A vocation that brought out the deepest parts of her creativity while at the same time fueling her desires to help others.

In May 2019, she graduated from Miami Dade College with an Associate of Arts in Interior Design and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in the same field at Florida International University (FIU). Morejon’s transition through the industry has always involved giving back to the community. A community that has given her so much to be grateful for; and has helped flourish her academic career.

Throughout her college years, she has been engaged with numerous associations while volunteering on several events from organizations such as Network of Executive Women in Hospitality (NEWH) and the International Interior Design Association (IIDA). Her commitment and dedication have been rewarded with a promotion to the board of NEWH in 2017. Morejon’s board position is to assist students to pursue their dreams; by helping them uncover opportunities via scholarships and financial aid assistance. Morejon’s standout performance towards her community’s well-being and her willingness to support those in need has been recognized with professional opportunities. Her hard work secured an internship at Stantec in 2017 and a full-time job in the same firm from 2019 to 2020.”
