Lopez holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Florida, where she majored in Political Science. In 2019, Chabeli Lopez pursued her passion for architecture, enrolling in Florida International University’s accelerated Master of Architecture program.

While at FIU, Chabeli has been involved in several organizations and projects involving architecture. Lopez worked with FIU by Design in association with the Historic American Buildings Survey and The Related Group. This past summer 2021, Chabeli was one of the few selected FIU students to be part of the first collaboration ever between The Bass Museum and FIU, where she contributed to an art installation exhibit. Chabeli is also a proud member of The National Honor Society of Architecture and the Allied Arts (Tau Sigma Delta), an associate of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), and the National Council of Architectural Registration Board (NCARB). Chabeli is dedicated to innovative designs that offer site-specific solutions and remain community-focused.

Chabeli has also gained professional experience working in the not-for-profit sector. Lopez spent 4 years working with senior citizens facilitating and aiding them with social services. The work she has done with the community has pushed her to keep striving for change and help others.

Her capacity for creative problem solving, initiative, and adaptability drives Chabeli to make an impact within her professional field.

The Kopenhaver Leadership Boot Camp has pushed and enhanced her leadership and communication skills, which she will then apply in her professional future. Her expected graduation date is spring of 2022, and Lopez is eager to be a pioneer and leader in her field, utilizing her degree to give back to her community through the medium of architecture.
