Kacey Parrales is pursuing a Masters in Landscape Architecture + Environmental and Urban Design.

From the moment Parrales could hold a pencil, she has been cultivating her creative outlet in sketchbooks and shares her work on her website and social media profiles.

She found her way to Landscape Architecture through her passion for the arts and design, science and the environment, and problem-solving. These passions have followed her from her youth and are still her inspiration and motivation.

At FIU and in her local community, Parrales has used her skills as a creative leader to build community spirit, share knowledge, and promote meaningful connections. Parrales has led multiple workshops for FIU ASLA, local high schools, and as a part-timer in the City of Doral Parks and Recreation department.

Inspired by her grandmother and their shared experiences in grandma’s backyard Parrales is committed to sharing knowledge.  She has written an illustrated children’s book called Grandma’s Garden which is meant to instill a love for the outdoors.

Moving forward Parrales plans to continue developing her creativity, leadership skills, and connections to the community to do her part in the collective effort against the challenges faced by our environment.
