Nyds Rivera

Nyds Rivera is a senior Writing Arts major in the CADP graduate program at Rowan University. They are serving as the inaugural Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion intern for the Edelman College of Communications & Creative Arts and are responsible for running the College’s DEI blog. They are the Editor-in-Chief of Avant Literary Magazine and have served on the editorial board of several on and off-campus publications. A poet at heart, Rivera is also passionate about collaborating with writers and fellow students to help them realize their work’s fullest potential—a passion that has served them well in their position as a tutor in the Rowan Writing Center.

Post-graduation, they plan to pursue a career in publishing while, of course, continuing their own writing. They also intend to continue working with small presses and magazines, particularly those that amplify the work of writers from marginalized or underrepresented communities.
