AEJMC Pre-Convention Workshop Women Faculty Moving Forward: “100 Years from Suffrage to Academic Leadership”

The Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication Pre-Convention Workshop Women Faculty Moving Forward: “100 Years from Suffrage to Academic Leadership” was held virtually on Wednesday, August 5, 2020.
Sponsored by the AEJMC Commission on the Status of Women, the Lillian Lodge Kopenhaver Center for the Advancement of Women in Communication at Florida International University and the AEJMC Council of Affiliates, this eighth annual workshop was designed for tenure-track women, and a cohort of 50 women were selected for the pre-conference workshop.
Keynote speaker for the workshop was Jennifer Greer, Dean of the College of Communication and Information, University of Kentucky. Senior professor and researcher panelists include Dr. Cory Armstrong, department chair of Journalism and Creative Media, University of Alabama; Dr. Maria Len-Rios, associate dean for academic affairs and professor, Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication, University of Georgia; Dr. Andrea Miller, dean of the Mayborn School of Journalism, University of North Texas; Dr. Mia MoodyRamirez, department chair, and professor, Journalism, Public Relations & New Media, Baylor University; and Kristin Gilger, senior associate dean and Reynolds Professor in Business Journalism, Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, Arizona State.
