Web Content Coordinator | Miami Children’s Health System

Born in the coastal city of Guayaquil in Ecuador, Romina Herrera moved to the U.S. during her teenage years. She completed her high school education in Miami and then proceeded to enroll in Graphic and Commercial Arts AA program in Miami Dade College. Always seeking a venue that would best translate her drive to create art and express ideas in visual mediums, she continued her undergraduate education in Florida International University, becoming part of the first class to graduate in digital media studies in FIU’s School of Journalism and Media.

Romina has worked designing graphics, promotional materials and web pages for private clients, implementing SEO as part as a marketing agency, and for her internship, worked as a research assistant for Knight Foundation’s Eric Newton. She was an integral part of the Global Learning Faculty Fellowship project www.culturemapped.com for which she built the website and GIS Maps displaying patterns of immigration in southeast Florida. Currently, she works for Miami Children’s Health System, as the website content coordinator.

A geek at heart, her other interests include Asian culture, animated films, board games, cats, and most recently crossfit.
