Florida International University, Department of Interior Architecture, Master of Interior Architecture

The Master of Interior Architecture (MIA) granted by Florida International University, Department of Interior Architecture, meets the educational requirement for eligibility to sit for the National Council for Interior Design Qualification Examination (NCIDQ Exam). Foundation to Graduate Retention Rates:

• 88% of students admitted in the Fall of 2021, returned in the Fall of 2022, putting attrition at 12%. 
• 93% of students admitted in the Fall of 2019, returned in the fall of 2020, putting attrition at 7%.
• 100% of students admitted to Fall of 2018, returned in the Fall of 2019, putting attrition to 0%
• 100% of students admitted to Fall of 2017, returned in the Fall of 2018, putting attrition to 0%

TIME TO GRADUATION (AY):

Of the students graduating in 2017-18, on an average students graduated in 3.8 years

Of the students graduating in 2016-17, on an average students graduated in 3.05 years

Of the students graduating in 2015-16, on an average students graduated in 3.4 years

GRADUATION RATES FOR AAs:

For 2021-22 AY, data on the 2018-19 AA cohort shows a graduation rate at 84%

For 2019-20 AY, data on the 2016-17 AA cohort shows a graduation rate at 77% 

For 2018-19 AY, data on the 2015-16 AA cohort shows a graduation rate at 89% 

For 2017-18 AY, data on the 2014-15 AA cohort shows a graduation rate was 64%

ACCEPTANCE INTO GRADUATION PROGRAM: 

FIU Interior Architecture Department only offers a graduate degree.  

JOB PLACEMENT RATES: 

Information collected through LinkedIn site suggests that among 35 graduating students in May 2022, 25 students are employed in interior design or a related profession in August 2022 accounting to a job placement  rate of 72%.
