Sylvie Daubar-San Juan earned her BA from Florida International University and her MA in Art History from the Savannah College of Art and Design, where her thesis focused on Byzantine influence in Islamic art. She has taught art history at Belen Jesuit Preparatory School for nine years. Through dual enrollment programs, she has taught courses through St. Thomas University and FIU. In addition to teaching art history, she has also taught AP European History. Due to her experience teaching AP Art History at Belen Jesuit, she has served as a reader for the national exam. She presented “The Portuguese Tradition of Azulejos” at the SECAC 2000 Conference. Currently, her interests focus on contemporary painting and sculpture, and she counts the Tate Modern in London as one of her favorite museums.
