About Florida International University Interior Architecture

We are a distinct and dynamic community of creative dedicated designers. Ranked as the 9th best Interior Design Graduate Program in the United States by DesignIntelligence in 2015, our faculty and students are passionate about design and explore its countless contributions to society. As designers, researchers, and teachers, we produce scholarly research and conduct creative activities all aimed at investigating the practice of interior architecture worldwide; sustaining cultural diversity through design; encouraging global connectivity among peoples, ideas, and interdisciplinary fields of thought.

Here at FIU Interior Architecture Department, we offer several degrees. Our Master of Interior Architecture (MIA) Degree is a CIDA-accredited degree offering a professional interior design education. We also offer a post professional Master of Arts in Interior Architecture (MAIA) Degree with a track in Healthcare design. Students in our professional degree program have the option of also obtaining a Certificate in Cruise Ship and Super Yacht design.

Located in one of the world’s most vibrant cities, our facilities are on a spectacular tropical campus in Miami. It is here where we provide our students access to a rich and provocative environment in which to learn design. An active and innovative program, we operate from a solid foundation in design studies that prepares students for the dynamic life of an interior design professional. With fresh approaches to curricular development such as: accelerated Master of Interior Architecture curriculum, our cross-cultural exchange study abroad programs, and to our unique Cruise Ship and Super Yacht certificate, we develop advanced competencies in cutting edge technology, knowledge, and application of design research, and the ability to promote sustainable design practices.
