Ebru Özer, PhD, FASLA, is Professor and Department Chair at Florida International University, Landscape Architecture + Environmental and Urban Design.

Her research focuses on green infrastructure, landscape performance, urban mobility, and aging in place, supported by grants from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Department of Education, Landscape Architecture Foundation, Florida Department of Transportation, and other local, regional, and federal agencies. She is the co-author of Best Practices in Sustainable Building Design (2012) and has published widely in leading journals, including Landscape Journal, Urban Ecosystems, City and Environment Interactions, Landscape Architecture Magazine, Innovation in Aging, and Results in Engineering.

She served as National Vice President, Executive Committee Member, and a member of the Board of Trustees for the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA), and as Treasurer and Executive Officer of the Council of Educators in Landscape Architecture (CELA). She collaborates with non-profits, government agencies, and community organizations to enhance urban environments through trail and greenway projects, leads schoolyard greening initiatives, and volunteers in K–12 career discovery programs to introduce landscape architecture to younger generations.

Her contributions to the profession have been recognized with the ASLA Community Service Medal (2022) and elevation to the ASLA Council of Fellows (2023). At FIU, her teaching and scholarship have been recognized twice with Faculty Senate Medals (2015 and 2023) and she has twice been named a Top Scholar (2020 and 2023).

In addition to her academic leadership, Özer is Principal and Founding Partner of LandscapeDE, where her professional design work has earned multiple awards. She holds a PhD in Civil Engineering from Florida International University, an MLA from Louisiana State University, a BArch from Dokuz Eylül University, and a Diploma in Physics from Ege University.
