The Crossing Boundaries Distinguished Lecture Series strives to connect the university and the South Florida community with scholars and outstanding people in the arts discussing their experience and relationship with music.

Derek Menchan is a producer, multi-instrumentalist, an artist for NS Design, and a visual artist. He is currently a Professor of Humanities and Music at Polk State College.

Join prize-winning visual artist, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, Derek Menchan, for a discussion on the influence of archetypes on the creative mind. 

This lecture is free and open to the public.

Alan Dershowitz, Professor Emeritus of Law at Harvard University & Amernet String Quartet, Artists-in-Residence

The program will explore how the cultural landscape and history of the state of Israel are deeply entwined with the successive waves of migration that created its artistic identity.  Through conversation, discussion, and performance, they will take patrons on a travelogue from the dusty streets of old Tel Aviv in the 1930s through the modern country we know today.
