Dr. Stephannie Moore is the Area Coordinator for the Wertheim School of Music’s new BM and MM degree programs in musical theater. Her teaching career spans more than two decades, specializing in musical theatre and classical voice. A sought-after audition and performance coach, her students perform on stages across the US, Europe and Asia and many of them are award-winning professional singers and emerging artists. As a performer, she is equally comfortable on the operatic, concert and theater stages and known for her colorful stage characters and expressive musicianship.

Dr. Moore holds a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Michigan and a Doctor of Musical Arts in Vocal Pedagogy and Performance from the University of Miami. She is an active clinical researcher of voice pedagogy and vocal health, specializing in strategies to prevent and rehabilitate voice injuries in musical theater singers. Other areas of research include the use of mindfulness practices in the voice studio and techniques to support total wellness of the performing artist. Two of her recent articles, Prevention Not Intervention: Stewarding Healthier Singers into University Musical Theatre Programs and Unique Vulnerabilities for the Musical Theatre Performer are currently in publication.
